Our minors are through to the county final after a 2-15 to 1-14 victory over Hollymount - Carramore

Ballagh Minor team came out victorious in a tremendous battle on Tuesday evening in Hollymount. In an end to end encounter Ballagh came out as winners on a scoreline of 2-15 to 1-14.

Ballagh who had been defeated by Hollymount by 10 points earlier on in the league had no minor player available due to injury instead played the game with an U17 team. Nonetheless Ballagh showed no fear and from start to finish left everything on the pitch. A goal after 6 minutes for full forward Charlie Ward gave Ballagh the start they needed with a strong wind at their back. At half time Ballagh went in leading by a point on a scoreline of 1-7 to 9, Conor Moriarity and Callum Coleman kicking 3 each while Charlie finished the half with 1-1.

The second half had everything and was not short of entertainment for all in attendance. Another goal in the 50th minute from Charlie Ward put Ballagh two ahead. As the clock neared the 60 minute marker the game was point for point but a flurry of points from Coleman and Ward towards injury time secured Ballagh a 4 point win on a scoreline of 2-15 to 1-14 in what can only be described as a fiery affair.

Next up for Ballagh is a county final next Tuesday. The majority of this team will also line out on Thursday in the U16 Semi Final Vs Westport.
