Mayo footballer Lee Keegan has been nominated for the GAA / GPA Opel Player of the Month award for August. Following Mayo’s crushing disappointment at losing the All-Ireland semi-final replay to Dublin on Saturday evening, the three shortlisted players for the award have been announced today, with Lee Keegan, Dublin’s Jack McCaffrey and Stephen O’Brien of Kerry nominated. Galway’s David Burke is one of three nominees for the Hurler of the Month award, alongside Tipperary’s Seamus Callanan, and TJ Reid of the All-Ireland winning Kilkenny team.
